We are building a new foundation for how the world hears, sees and values life on Earth. From back gardens to rainforests, and from individuals driven by curiosity to institutions shaping policy, we build the instruments for monitoring, understanding and protecting biodiversity.
What is broken
Everyone talks about the biodiversity crisis. Understanding it, and knowing whether anything we do about it works, means monitoring nature at scale and over time: from the first impact to the recovery years later.
The uncomfortable truth is that our ability to measure nature is broken. Monitoring tools that look impressive in a controlled test often fail in the field: they miss overlapping species, struggle in new regions, and do not integrate across sensors.
That is why Nature Integrity exists.
What we are building
We are building an end-to-end autonomous nature monitoring system: multi-taxa AI combined with integrated, multi-sensor hardware designed for long-term and permanent deployments. Today our models identify birds, bats, mammals and amphibians from sound. They pick out several species in the same recording.
Our mission is to provide the instruments that support biodiversity conservation, sustainable development and ecosystem resilience. By making nature's health visible and actionable, we help individuals, communities, businesses and governments redefine humanity's relationship with the natural world.
The company
Nature Integrity is a project of AF Labs, Freising, Germany, run by Dr Andrew Fairbairn, an ecologist building the tools he wished he had in the field.
His doctorate at the Technical University of Munich identified drivers of urban biodiversity. He monitored birds by sound at more than 500 sites across Munich. His published work shows that automated identification can be as good as experts.

Co-founder
We are looking for a co-founder in applied machine learning for audio, images and remote sensing data. You would own the models: species identification, the training data, evaluation, and learning from the detections people validate.
