One recorder is easy. A whole site is the hard part, and it's the bit almost nobody has built.
Sharing one connection
The usual answer is a cellular modem in every device. That falls over when there’s no signal, when you’re paying for twenty SIMs, or when the thing you needed to know is that a recorder died three weeks ago.
We’d rather put one connection on a site and let devices share it. How much sharing works depends on the site: how far apart things are, what’s in the way, and where you can get line of sight.
Places with no coverage
The sites that most need monitoring usually have the least infrastructure. No mains, no signal, no road. Designing for those first is why the network is its own layer instead of a setting on a recorder.
Room for more than sound
Anything else on the site joins the same local network. Adding cameras or environmental sensors later is a configuration job, not a redesign.
That’s why we call this a monitoring layer rather than an acoustic product. Sound is what runs today.
